Developed in close consultation with industry leaders and academic experts, the program is designed to equip professionals to lead at the intersection of technology and business strategy for productivity and value creation.

Unlike traditional MBAs that typically offer technology streams or electives, the new program has been developed specifically to integrate business leadership and technological capability into a single curriculum, including emerging technologies such as generative AI.

The online delivery of the MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy) provides flexibility for working professionals while maintaining a high level of engagement through live, interactive sessions. Students will participate in real-time case discussions, collaborative projects, and workshops with faculty and peers to apply concepts directly to practical business challenges.

Course Overview

The University Online MBA in Technology and Digital Strategy is designed to build capability at the intersection of technology and business, ensuring graduates can make informed decisions, lead digital initiatives, and create value in technology-driven environments. The program covers subjects including:

  • Data-Driven Decision Making
  • AI and Digital Ethics
  • Managing Integrated Supply Chains

The program is designed for those seeking to deepen their business and technical expertise, as well as executives aiming to drive innovation and transformation initiatives within their organisations. It complements the University of Sydney’s current MBA degrees which focus on developing the personal and interpersonal skills required for leadership and management roles, as well core business skills in finance, people management and strategy through face-to-face learning.

The MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy) is 1.5 years full-time and available part-time. Applications are now open for the first cohort in Semester 1, 2026.

Course Structure

To qualify for the award of the MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy), you must complete 72 credit points of units of study, comprising of 66 credit points of core units of study and a 6 credit point capstone unit of study.

Course Delivery

The online program offers a blend of live virtual classes, interactive workshops, and both self-paced and group assignments.

Entry Requirements

This course is not available to students who require a student visa to study in Australia.

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

  • an Australian bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent qualification;
  • at least three years’ work experience;
  • completed a selection interview; and
  • A one-page statement of motivation outlining what you hope to achieve  professionally and personally by completing the MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy) at the University of Sydney.

OR

In exceptional circumstances the School may admit candidates without these qualifications who, in the opinion of the School, have qualifications and evidence of experience and achievement sufficient to successfully undertake the award.
