Australia’s 20 Biggest MBA Programs Revealed

The Holmes Institute has retained its title as Australia’s biggest MBA program, with nearly 5,000 MBA students enrolled in 2020, nearly double the number of students enrolled in the next biggest program at Kaplan Business School.

New data from the Commonwealth Department of Education showed the 1.5-year, $29,400 Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Holmes grew student numbers by 2% to 4,919 compared to 4,809 in 2019. Nearly every student was from overseas.

Holmes students represented nearly 15% of the total of 33,650 MBA students enrolled nearly 50 different MBA providers in 2020.

Kaplan Business School had 2,465 MBA students enrolled in 2020, up 16% from the year before. The two-year Kaplan MBA costs $47,880 for international students.

Third-placed Torrens University recorded an 18% increase in total MBA student numbers from 1,884 in 2019 to 2,213 in 2020. Just under 400 Torrens MBA students were domestic students.

The Australian Institute of Business (AIB) was next with 2,213 students, with the vast majority (1,662) being Australian students.

The University of New South Wales’ rounded out the top 5 with 1,766 students across their suite of three MBAs (Part-time, Executive MBA and MBAx)
