Bond University alumnus and former Vice Chancellor’s Scholar, Bridget Healy, has been awarded a prestigious national scholarship to study her MBA at INSEAD in Singapore.
The Law/International Relations graduate was one of 15 scholars selected from a record 312 applications to receive a 2014 John Monash Scholarship which provides recipients with up to $150,000 to complete their Masters or Doctoral degrees at their choice of the world’s best universities.
A former star on the international junior tennis circuit, Bridget was awarded the Bond University Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship to commence her undergraduate studies in Law and International Relations in 2008.
Since graduating with First Class Honours, she has worked at the Tim Fischer Centre for Global Trade and Finance, stockbroking firm BGF Equities, and the Boston Consulting Group.
A fluent French speaker, she plans to build on her Asian language skills while studying her MBA in Singapore, with a view to establishing an executive management career in Asia.
Bridget follows in the footsteps of fellow Law alumnus Kate Mitchell who became the first Bond student to be named a Monash Scholar in 2013 and is now studying her Doctor of Philosophy in Law at Oxford University in the UK.
Launched in 2003 in honour of one of Australia’s finest military and civic leaders, the General Sir John Monash Scholarships are now regarded as Australia’s most prestigious postgraduate scholarship program.
A limited number of scholars are selected each year based on their leadership skills, academic excellence and commitment to the Australian community.
The Scholarship award includes financial assistance of $50,000 per year for up to three years for postgraduate studies at the world’s elite universities.
