Head of Shell Australia appointed to UWA Business School board

140329 andrew smith uwaAndrew Smith, Country Chair of Shell Australia has been appointed to the Board of The University of Western Australia’s Business School.

 Mr Smith, who heads up Shell’s upstream businesses in Australia and New Zealand, will join business leaders from across the public and private sectors on one of the most influential education boards in Western Australia.

Dean of the UWA Business School, Winthrop Professor Phil Dolan, said Mr Smith would bring a wealth of experience to the role.

“We are very pleased to welcome Mr Smith to the UWA Business School Board,” Winthrop Professor Dolan said.“His experience will be particularly valuable as the UWA Business School continues to introduce more courses with a focus in the area of resources, and as we continue to conduct innovative research in the business of resources.”

Chair of the UWA Business School Board, Dr Mark Barnaba, said Mr Smith’s significant international experience would be an important addition to the Board.

“The international experience of UWA Business School Board members helps ensure the School remains at the leading edge globally,” Dr Barnaba said.

“The UWA Business School is internationally accredited with a global alumni network and students from more than 60 countries.  Mr Smith’s experience will help us ensure that we remain at the forefront of best international practice in the area of business education.”
