Two Australian universities have secured spots in the top 100 in the latest ranking of Executive MBA (EMBA) programs from around the world.
Melbourne Business School took out 29th spot while AGSM @ UNSW claimed 36thin the global QS 2020 EMBA Rankings published recently.
Both universities climbed five places compared to their 2020 results.
The QS rankings assessed key performance metrics of 176 global Executive MBA programs.
EMBA programs were ranked according to:
- Employability outcomes, including salary uplift
- Program recognition among employers
- The quality of a program’s cohort, including C-Suite and Management experience
- The diversity of a program’s cohort, with an emphasis on gender and international representation
AGSM again performed well in Thought Leadership (25th in the worlds) Diversity (22nd globally), and Career Outcomes categories.
AGSM Director and Deputy Dean UNSW Business School Professor Nick Wailes said:
“This year’s QS rankings show that AGSM’s MBA Executive program, with its internationally recognised faculty and employer reputation, is one of the most relevant programs in the world for ambitious leaders who want to make an impact in their organisations and communities.
“Our classes are adaptive and experiential and students are immersed in active learning experiences and exposed to practical skills and tools they can immediately apply to real business problems.”
As well as Thought Leadership, AGSM scored 79.9 for Career Outcomes, which is greater than the global average of 60.7 and the Asia-Pacific average of 61.3. AGSM received a score of 58 for Employer Reputation, which is more than the global mean of 49.4 and more than the Asia Pacific score of 47.4.
AGSM also received a score of 66.6 for diversity, which is more than the global mean of 56 and more than the Asia Pacific score of 55.7.
Other Australian results include RMIT University slipping from 69th in 2020 to the 101-110 bracket in latest rankings. University of Wollongong’s Sydney Business School placed in the 111-120 bracket after debuting in 94th in 2020.
HEC Paris took out the title of world’s number-one EMBA after scoring well on international diversity and in improvements in the one-year salary uplift that it offers its graduates.
“On the contrary, average enrolments decreased over the last application cycle, while application numbers increased by 14%,” he said.
“With compensation for Executive MBA graduates also remaining robust, it is clear that employers continue to place a premium on the unique skillsets and experiences offered by the qualification.”
